Get out and about and be active
This might involve something as simple as taking the dog for a walk or going for a swim. In fact, did you know that exercising and being active is one of the best things you can do to improve your mental health and to prevent mental health problems. It helps to relieve stress, improves our sleep and boosts ‘feel good’ chemicals in our brain. Your GP may even offer you an ‘exercise prescription’ to treat some mental health problems.
